Discussion Questions

1. What were the reasons for the Lord commanding the people of Israel to devote the Canaanites to complete destruction (see e.g.: Deuteronomy 20:16-18)? Is this concept of 'Holy War' still relevant today? Why or why not? 
2. Just like Israel in the OT (Exodus 19:6), we Christians are also called "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession" (1 Peter 2:9). How did this "calling out of darkness into His wondrous light" take place? How should we respond in light of this calling?  
3. Just like the men of Ai in Joshua 8:20, those who have not believe in Jesus are/will be in a position where they have "no power/chance to flee this way or that". What did the speaker mean by that? How should we respond to this sobering message? 
4. Share and pray for one or two persons you may have in mind whom you can share the Gospel with. Pray that they too may believe and receive Mercy.
