Discussion Questions

  1. Why do you think it was so important for Israel to be reminded of God’s faithfulness? Do these reasons apply to the church today? 
  2. The writer of Joshua gave a long list of precise reasons for the nation of Israel to be thankful to God (i.e. the 31 defeated kings in Joshua 12). It’s a common thing in the Psalms too (e.g. Ps 105 & 136). Do you find such lists in the Bible tedious or energising? 
  3. What are some specific ways that God has assured you of his faithfulness? 
  4. How God’s faithfulness been the source of your confidence in your life? 
  5. Spend some time thanking God for the specific ways he has been faithful to those in your CG and the church at large. Encourage each other to continue doing the same over the coming week.
